DIMOND, ORNE posted by Linda Goodell on Thursday, March 13, 1997

I am looking for information on the DIMOND family of Bristol county. I am looking to see if I can connect them with any of my DIMOND family in Huntingdon Co., PA. I am especially interested in James DIMOND, born 1706, m Mary ORNE 1743. Did he fight in the Colonial War, 1755 in PA under the leadership of General Braddock? There was a James DIMOND who fought in that war and apparently had a wife named Mary because in 1755, about a month before he was killed, General Braddock wrote a letter for the wives of his soldiers, naming about a dozen or so women, granting them free passage with no harm by anyone. Amongst these women is listed a Mary DIMOND. Do you have any information on these DIMOND's that would connect them to the PA DIMOND's? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
