Searching for HUNTER family bible. Last known in possession of my ggrandmother Susan Allen HUNTER dod 8 Dec 1909 while residing on Bernice Ave in Woonsocket. Susan's sisters (who both lived nearby) Sarrah BURRILL and Ann GOULD may have claimed the bible from the estate. Highly possible the bible was left to her youngest daughter Sarah V KENNON wife of Dr. Charles V. KENNON who either resided or had an office at 331 Brodway in Providence..she died abt 1930 and the Dr. about 1940

I am researching the family of Ida Adelaide or Amelia POTTER born Mar 8, 1859 to Sterry and Susan RANDALL POTTER in Johnston, RI. Ida married Thomas James BATES (Jr.?) born April 26, 1858, son of Thomas James and Abby Susan STONE BATES. I have found her brothers: Walter Scott POTTER born Oct. 27, 1867 and Sterry B. POTTER born Oct. 5, 1891 but no records of marriages for these men. Her sister Cora Bell born Oct. 6, 1862 was married to Charles Howard BROWN. Her father Sterry was the son of Benjamin (I think) who was the son of Henry. But which ones? There are many Benjamin POTTER's. Would appreciate any help with this line. Also still searching for the parents of Welcome O. BATES, born about 1801 and died 1868 supposedly in Richmond, RI. Both he and his wife Ann Eliza JAMES BATES are buried in Queens River Baptist Cemetery although at one time they were in New York where one of their sons was born.

I am looking for information on the Ukrainian community that settled in Manville, Rhode Island at the turn of the century. My grandfather, Peter BOROZNY arrived in New York on July 25. 1907, and settled in Manville where he worked at Manville Jenkes as a weaver. He and my grandmother, Anna CHERKAS, owned a home in Cumberland and had several children: Steven, Michael, Fred, Joseph, Dimitry, Olga, John, and Andrew. Peter was born in Touste, Austria (Ukraine today) but I know nothing about my grandmother. Does anyone know how I can access information from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Manville that is not a working parrish any longer? I believe they were married in the church and I am looking for a specific date. Any help would be appreciated.
