IRONS posted by Doug Meharry on Monday, June 9, 2003

Greetings all. I am seeking direct descendant males of the IRONS family who are willing to have a DNA test in order to prove or disprove a relationship between the Rhode Island IRONS line and the New Jersey IRONS line. Up until now, there has been much speculation that these two branches of the IRONS family are related, however there is no documented proof. Now with a Y-Chromosome DNA test, we can find out. For more information, please visit the project webpage: http://www.discoveryvision.com/doug/genealogy/Irons/Irons_Family_DNA_Project.htm

GREEN, JORDAN, KEACH, LAWTON, SMITH posted by Monica MacKeachan on Monday, June 23, 2003

I have Census information to further my knowledge of family gravestones. I would like to ask anyone with more information to please contact me at beads@aspi.net From the Westfield Cemetery in Danielson, Connecticut I have these names from the KEACH plot Elizabeth A. KEACH Aug. 8 1835 - May 23, 1888. Elizabeth was the daughter of Waterman and Alice GREEN. In the 1870 Rhode Island Census I believe her name was spelled Allis. The 1870 R.I. Census shows Allis as wife of Waterman GREEN. Both people have reported to be 60 years old at that time. So I am looking for births in 1810 for Waterman GREEN and Allis or Alice ? I know that this is the right family because in the same 1870 R.I. Census and in the same household with Waterman and Alice GREEN is a 10 year old George W. KEACH. George W. KEACH appears in the 1880 Providence Scituate Rhode Island Census as W. George KEACH's 20 year old son. W. George KEACH is listed as head of household and 42 years old. birthyear 1838 and listed birthplace is Rhode Island. Elizabeth A. is shown to be W. George KEACH's wife and I have reason to believe that her maiden name was GREEN. Elizabeth A. GREEN KEACH has a birthyear of 1835 and a birthplace of Rhode Island. There are also 2 sons, 1 son-in-law and 1 daughter listed in that same 1880 Scituate Census. George W. KEACH, as I have said before, Willie A. KEACH - age 14 years old, Almira F. KEACH LAWTON (I forgot to write down her age) and Frederick LAWTON. William A. KEACH is buried next to his mother, Elizabeth A. KEACH in the KEACH plot in Danielson Connecticut, 1865 - 1946. I have very little information about my Gr.Gr.Grandfather, William A. KEACH. He married Fannie - Isabelle - B. SMITH, 1868 - 1934 and they had 2 children, Alice E. KEACH, 1888 - 1951 and Edward L. KEACH, 1891 - 1956. Edward L. KEACH is buried next to his wife in the JORDAN plot in Westfield Cemetary, Danielson, Connecticut. His wife was my Gr. Grandmother, Emma JORDAN, July 14, 1890 - 1982.

SANDERS, SAUNDERS, TENNANT posted by Marsha Grant Ocain on Monday, June 30, 2003

I am looking for my Great Great Grandmother Irene TENNANT. She was buried in the Cranston State Institution Cemetery, Cranston, RI on January 21, 1893 and was reburied at an unknown place on August 17, 1898 by C. O. Chase Funeral Home. How can I find out where she is now? I think her maiden name was SANDERS (SAUNDERS) as her son was buried in Sanders Lot in Foster, RI in 1841. His name was Asaph S. TENNANT. I think Irene's husband, Asaph TENNANT was buried there also. Thanks.
