PAINE, PAYNE, WALKER posted by Ellen Krause on Thursday, July 17, 2003

I am looking for information on a Simon PAINE / PAYNE. Possibly related to PAINE's in Rhode Island. He lived in Buffalo, Erie Co., New York in 1821 when daughter Prudence Permelia Portia PAYNE was born. (She is believed to be a twin, and that she took her sister's names also, the reason for three given names.) He is also listed on the 1830 Erie Co., Census. Prudence studied music and was going to study abroad, missed the ship she was to sail on and was a lucky thing, the ship sank. Prudence married our John WALKER in 1847 after meeting him at a ball in Washington D.C., but they were married in Virginia, so no leads to go by there. They settled in John WALKER's home in Blair Co., Pennsylvania. I would appreciate any and all help in finding him and his family.
