Recently discovered the possible existance of the following "Family bible belonging to Christopher E. THORNTON. It being a Cottage Bible complete in two volumes published by D.F. robinson and H.f. Sumner, Hartford, CT 1834." Can anyone elaborate for me what this is and where someone might have a copy of it for lookups? I'm assumming it might be found in an archives somewhere as it was published, but am only able to find it on rare booksellers websites.

I'm trying to locate one WHITTEMORE in particular. His name was Elmer E. WHITTEMORE and it seems he just disappeared after appearing in the 1900 US Census record of the City of Providence, RI, with his wife Gertrude Mary and his daughter Hope G. My husband's grandmother was renamed with her stepfather's name "KNAPP" and is living with her mother and stepfather in Los Angeles in 1910. So between 1900 and 1910 Elmer seems to have disappeared, Hope has a new father and new last name, and they have moved across the country to California. It's really odd. Especially since Hope never spoke of her real father. Thank you, Kelly

Amasa KILLAM and his wife Hannah. Hannah's surname unknown. Amasa and Hannah were married c1757 and were divorced Sept. 1759. Their first and possible only child was John KILLAM b. March 8, 1758 Providence, RI son John is reported to have died in Yarmouth, NS but not proven yet. Amasa and his son John took the side of the American's against the British during the American Revolution. Amasa was b. in Preston, Connecticut and I believe his wife Hannah was probably b. in Providence. I am a direct descendant of Amasa and would like any information from source documents, town books etc. to learn more on this family. Thank you in advance.

I have a most unusual first name for a relation that was found only recently. The name is Exilias BRISSETTE - he resided in Woonsocket, RI (I think). He and his wife, Marie Exila (another unusual first name), had a daughter, Marie Anne Flora (b)26 Jul 1898. Exilias was found in the 1920 Federal Census - RI. Would there be anyone out there who would be able to tell me what the anglicized name would be for "Exilias". So far, my leads have been in the negative. Would appreciate any information on this unusual first name. I do thank you in advance.
