Looking for any information on John SLAVIN b ca 1898 Northern Ireland and wife Margaret "Maggie Pie" b ca 1906 Scotland. They emigrated to Central Falls, Providence Co RI in the late 1920's to work at a thread mill, likely for J&P Coats of Paisley Scotland. I do not know if they stayed in Central Falls. According to the 1930 census, they resided at 159 Hedley Ave, Central Falls, no children listed. His father b Northern Ireland and mother b Scotland. Her father b England and mother b Scotland. SSDI shows a John SLAVIN b 28 May 1898 d July 1964 RI. No zip code for residence or survivors. This birth year matches the 1930 census, but no proof this is the right one. The family lost track of them after they emigrated, so I'm trying to help John's niece, who lives in Hamilton Ontario, find the missing pieces. She would love to find their death dates, burial places and children's names (if any). Does anyone know of either John, Maggie or surviving children? Your help would be appreciated,

I'm seeking information about Nathaniel WOODWARD and his wife, Mary BRITTON / BRITTAIN. They had 10 children, six boys and 4 girls. After Nathaniel died, their son, Jeptha left with his mother and family for Vermont. I'm interested in vital records and general information about the WOODWARD's of Rhode Island. Did Nathaniel and/or Mary have other family in Rhode Island?
To give some dates on Nathaniel WOODWARD, he died at about 1782-3 in Smithfield, Providence, RI. I understand that his children were born there: Jeptha, Hepsybah, Nathaniel, Apollos, Darius, Clergy, Amaziah, Benjamin, Lois, and Mary. Hepsybah is my 3rd g-grandmother. She
died in 1825 in Hardwick, VT. Thanks, Judy

I am in search of information about the family of ROBINSON, Edwin Stearns, who was born in Glastonbury, CT in 10 Sept. 1812. His father was born in Providence, RI according to clues in census and school records. We don't know if he was born in the city or country. It is possible that he was a minister who traveled. Possible names for his father are- ROBINSON, Ezekial ROBINSON, Edwin ROBINSON, Thomas Other names are possible as well, but I don't know what they would be. Edwin married in Ledyard, Gales Ferry, CT and moved to NY City to teach. He later moved to MS to teach, farm, and minister, which he did. Family lore says he claimed to be a cousin of Ezekial Gilman Robinson. He also claimed descendancy from George Robinson of Rehoboth and John of Leyden, Holland. He may have had a brother named Albert or Alfred who migrated to Ohio. Edwin's biography and that of his first son, Thomas are found in the out of print book, "Mississippi Baptist Preachers". However, there is little information about his parents (no names) Any help is appreciated.

I am seeking info on my Uncle James McCUE born on March 17, 1869 in Central Falls, R.I. to Michael & Catherine McCUE (or McHUGH). James appears o be missing from some of the census and the RI archives implies he may have been incarcerated. (I know in later life his took an alias Frank WILLIMAS in Maryland for unknow reasons). It also appears he may have been in the Army in 1920 there is a Private James McCUE of Rhode Island serving at the Boston Navy Yard. When my widowed grandfather married widow Maria FANNING in 1879, James is the only child not listed as part of the family even though he was only 10. I don't know if he ever married. He died in the Baltimore City Hospitatal in 1943.
