FORCE, MORSE, VORCE, VOSE posted by Frances VOSE on Sunday, August 1, 2004

Seeking William Chandler FORCE and wife Mary Ann (MORSE) FORCE m. 1822, probably in Wrentham children: William Horatio Tower FORCE, Oliver Stratton FORCE, Mary Fisher FORCE B. 1823, 1824, 1827 respectively in Wrentham, Mass. The family came to Providence Co. (Providence or N. Providence) l827-1830. The mother died May 29, 1830 in Providence C. There may be some connection with the FORCE / VOSE / VORCE name, also with Pomfret, Conn. Husband remarried several years later, dying in Providence County 1862. Oliver Stratton Force above with his family left Maine for Iowa about 1852 stopping en route in Clayville, N.Y. in 1855 and 1857 in Seneca Falls, N.Y. where a son was affiliated with Methodist Episcopal Church. Would like to hear from anyone who may have any information on this family during the years 1827-1846 which seem to be a blank so far. As the mother died, there may have been family upheaval and the children could have been taken in by other family members with either FORCE / VOSE / VORCE name. Thank you! Frances

CADORETTE, MARCHAND, ROY posted by Kailah Eglington on Saturday, August 7, 2004

I am looking for information on my great-grandparents Joseph CADORETTE and Annie (ROY) CADORETTE. I believe they were married on 9 Jan 1895 in Woonsocket. Annie is believed to have been born on July 11, 1873 in Maine and Joseph in 1873 or 1874 in St Simon, PQ, Canada. Annie died on December 13, 1946 and I understand the person responsible for organising her funeral was a Mrs. Arthur MARCHAND. Joseph died on April 26, 1932. Both are buried in the Precious Blood Cemetary in Woonsocket. The last address they lived at was 69 Phoebe Street in Woonsocket. Their children were Lionel, Ovila, Louis, Wilfred, Frederick, Alida and Irene CADORETTE. I am looking for any information on Annie and Joseph but especially their parents. Family oral history says that Annie was a Native American but I cannot verify this. As I live in England, I would also be interested in any information or links on Providence in this time period. One of the problems I am having is accessing records kept at libraries, etc. as I am not living in the US, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks,

COLEMAN posted by Tammy LaBuy on Wednesday, August 11, 2004

COLEMAN - Looking in particular for death dates of James & Margaret COLEMAN. Found them in Central Falls in 1910 Census, their last child was born about 1912. Children of James & Margaret found living with relatives in 1920 Census in Central Falls and Providence. Family says they died in the flu epidemic of 1918 - don't know if it's true. Is there a death index for this era that I can have someone look at?

Can someone please help me find two marriages that occurred in Rhode Island? Armand Rosario ARBOUR married Sophia A. ... Armand Rosario ARBOUR married Cora Marie PILOTTE Armand was born in 1902 and emigrated from Canada in 1921. Sophia was born in about 1905 and emigrated in 1922. They were married for 4 years by the time of the 1930 Census, when they lived at 293 Thomas St in Newport, Newport Co, RI. Armand still lived in Newport at the time of the 1931 Directory. However, we are not sure that Sophia was still alive. We know that she passed away not too long after, as Armand married again to Cora.
