FURNEY Looking for any information or interested contacts related to the Rhode Island FURNEY family. Especially connection to the SUTLIFF family. A Lillian FURNEY married a Lloyd Goddard SUTLIFF [sic?] in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1919. Lloyd was Vice US consul in Winnipeg. Father of the bride was a Phillip Henry FURNEY (born UK?). Lillian was still alive in 1956 and residing Rhode Island when her brother Henry Charles FURNEY died in Vancouver, Canada. Also looking specifically for connection of Rhode Island FURNEY family (with whom I had some limited telephone contact several years ago) and the FURNEY family of Ontario Canada, especially an 'Uncle Jack?' who had a factory in Montreal? Finally, appreciate support of any kind sole who might have opportunity to track down an obit for Lillian SUTLIFF died in 1977 at 84 Providence, Providence (as per SSDI)

Looking for the parents of Thomas Jefferson WOOD. Born Providence, RI 13 Oct. 1836/37. Thomas married Anne Maria MANSFIELD, grand-daughter of Jonas Prescott WHITNEY in Thompson,CT. on 27 March 1866. Thomas's death certificate listed Mary THOMPSON as his Mother but his Father was not listed. Thomas died in Foxborough,MA on 29 April 1912. Does anyone have any information whatsoever on his father?

I am trying to locate any living relatives of Leon ANDERSON, serial number O-747704. He was a co-pilot of a B-17 that crashed on November 26, 1943 and he died on that day. I know that he was from Chepachet, RI. I'm hoping that he may have had some younger siblings who are still alive and can be contacted.

Seeking any information on Mark WHITEHEAD, born in England about 1814, who lived in Providence, RI in the 1840's to mid 1850's, and was married to Martha LAMBERT Whitehead (born in England about 1820). The family appears in the US 1850 census. Their children included: Sarah E. Whitehead born about 1843 in RI William J. born about 1846 in Philadelphia John, born about 1848 in RI (died 1850) Jonathyn Y, born about 1849 in RI (died 1850 in RI) George W, born in Providence June 1853, married Emily Vidsens in NYC Mary E, born NYC about 1858, married Edward JOHNSON in NYC After settling in Providence, RI, the family later moved to Manhattan in late 1850's. Any info greatly appreciated!

Searching for any descendants of Alfred Edward MORRIS who was born 1855 in Bow Brickhill, Buckinghamshire, England. His wife was Agnes. They had children Albert John born c1896 Rhode Island and another son possibly Alfred who died at age 16. Albert John married a Marion and they had Albert J. born c1925, Rita M. born c1927 and Edward J born c1927. On the 1930 USA Federal Census they are living in Cranston. I am connected through Alfred Edward's sister Mary Ann MORRIS born 1851 Fenny Stratford, Bucks, she and another sister Ellen "Nell" came to New Zealand. There were also siblings, Elizabeth, Sarah Ann, Emily, Adeline Eliza (Mrs DELAHAY), Alice Maude (Mrs EDWARDS), Albert Francis "Frank" he lived in Canada, Mark Henry (he died in infancy) and Arthur John who went to Australia. Their parents in turn were Francis MORRIS (a tailor) and Eliza WARREN. If you are related please do contact me to help further the family tree.

Amy Mathewson DETRAY b. abt 1805 near Providence RI, daughter of Amy MATHEWSON (b.1793) and Anthony / Antoine DETRAY / D'ESTREES (b.1779 CT) Amy Mathewson DETRAY / DESTREES married Philip PERDEW b. abt 1803 PA. BABIARZ, Anthoni immigrated from Kupienin, Austria in 1909. Birth 19 May 1891(2). Lived in Central Falls, RI. He had 2 brothers and a sister, I am not sure of their names but may be John, Walter, and Mary. Spouse: Anna KAPINOS. Immigrated to US from Mielec, Poland. Her family resided in Central Falls also. Later Anthoni and Anna moved to Plainfield, CT and lived there until their deaths, 17 Aug, 1949 and 31 May 1978 respectfully. I am looking for any information on Antoni's siblings. Thank you.

Looking for information on ancestry of Prusha PAGE, listed born Glocester, RI in late 1700"s, married a Whitman / Whitmore TOURTELLOT in 1809, Prov., RI. Marriage may also heve been recorded in Sutton, MA. Had a number of children, one of whom, Harriet, married an Andrew J. HUBBARD. They are both buried Glocester, RI. Prusha lived to be in her 90's. Some time after 1918 a Florence HARRINGTON ran a Girl School in RI. I don't know the name of the school or which town she was in. I know that she was successful. I don't know when she died and have been searching for any records at all about her. One family member thought she was born in Vermont but it may not have been. Her maiden name was VAN_SPOONER. I know that she had at least 3 children that lived with their dad in Connecticut. I don't know if she had any children that went with her.

What do you know about the coal mine in Cranston at the top of Sockanosset Ave. and Reservoir? There was a substantial black enclave on Sockanosset. Were they connected to the mine? John BROWN had a pig iron foundry on Hope Furnace Rd. [ since before the revolution] where I am sure the coal was from said mine. There were many black graves on Sockanosset that were built over.
